Seaside Getaway

Bill is on vacation this week and we have had reservations at the Mirage in Las Vegas since early January. We decided the night we were supposed to leave that we weren't quite ready to leave Liam behind. Although he would have been in very good hands with my mom, we weren't convinced it would be the best thing at this point. So, on Monday night we booked us a little Bungalow in Seaside and drove over on Tuesday. We only spent one night but we really enjoyed ourselves and it felt great having Liam with us too. Seaside is only about a 45 minute drive and for those of you who are familiar with the quaint little town know how beautiful and relaxing it is to be there. From what we've heard it has become a favorite vacation spot for Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo. No sightings of the lovebirds though. Thanks Bill for the getaway. It sure was nice. :)

This was our little bungalow for the night. With it being Spring Break, cottage rental prices were unbeleivably expensive. For a small fortune you can rent a beachfront cottage. We opted for a little bungalow adjacent from the Gulf. Tiny but cute. Perfect for the night.

The porch. We stayed pretty busy so we didn't even get a chance to sit out and enjoy it.

When you check it you get a free bottle of wine (red or white) and they gave me a bottle of water with a cute beachbag and wine opener.
This was our lunch spot after we got checked in. Our bungalow was ready when we got there so luckily they let us check in early and we went straight to lunch. This place has the best gouda grits ever! Yum yum!

Bill's nice cold Stella Artois.

Mommy and Liam.

It you've evern been to Seaside or seen pictures, I am sure you have seen one of the many beachside pavillions. This is one. They are so pretty.

This is the deck to the Shrimp Shack. What a pretty spot to have lunch.

So cute! I was worried that Liam was going to get sunburned so I lathered him in baby aveno 50 sunblock and since it was really chilly and windy I also had him covered in a light blanket most of the day. We took his blanket off to get a few pics.

These oversized chairs were really fun. They almost swallow you when you sit in them. The water was so rough. They were flying red flags because it was so windy.

Guess how much it costs to rent one of thise beachfront homes? They are in Seaside as well and the avg nightly rental is about 1500. Yes a night, not a week.

Cali the cat. She lives at Perspicacity. A very cute open air boutique.

Dawson's has the best homemade fudge I have ever eaten. My favorite (from three selections) was the chocolate raspberry and the chewy praline came in a very close second.

Getting ready to check out and head back home. We got a pretty good work out carrying Liam around in his carrier for two days. He's almost twenty lbs and my legs were sore at the end of the day.

Can't wait to go back. Bill and I said we might have to make it an annual tradition and take Liam over there. Even if it's for one night it's still so nice.
