This is how I feel right now

Tonight Bill and I made dinner together and it was really good! Bill made a marinated pork tenderloin with a roasted pepper glaze and I made fried polenta! Yummy! Okay,,, I know what you all are thinking,,, I got the easy part huh? Know what? You're right! But I did help Bill with his part too! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUKE!

Happy Brithday to our big boy DUKE! Since we don't know when his real date of birth is (he was a stray when we took him in) we are celebrating his birthday on the day that we found him which was one year ago today! When we found him, he was almost 20 lbs underweight and bleeding from several places on his face (an obvious fight with another dog perhaps). Now he's healthy (88lbs) and very happy. We'll have to make him a cake and celebrate when his daddy gets home on Wednesday! :)

Lucy Bug!!

An updated picture of Miss Lucy. Now a BIG 6 months old.......... She was dragging that stick around the yard and I tried to get a picture of her in action but ofcourse it never quite works out the way you want it to! She looks so big doesn't she?

We have some GREAT news!!!

No, I am NOT pregnant, but Bill did get the preliminary award for Capt. upgrade and the final award will post at the end of the month. We are hopeful for a November class date which will have him done and flying as a Captain by Christmas. He has waited and trained so long for this and I can not tell you how very proud of him I am. Great job honey! I love you very much! I can't wait to hear "Capt. Adams" on the PA. How cool! :)

Super Bridget

Ok,,,,well, at the risk of Bridget absolutely KILLING me, I had to post this. It cracks me up!! She looks so serious doesnt she? She reminds me of super woman! hahaha!!!

Meet Henry!!!

This is Henry,,,, I rescued him from an abandoned wharehouse ......... SIKE! Before all of you start gasping for air (because that would mean FIVE dogs for Bill and I) Henry is NOT my dog. However, my friend Lisa, who was one of my bridesmaids in my wedding, did adpot Henry from a shelter in Indianna. How cute is he? I just wanna kiss him! I couldn't help but put his picture on my blog and make all of you have a heart atack! Love you Henry! :)

Missing my Pilot

So, the whole month of September is gonna be a little rougher than it has been. Bill is stuck doing 4 day trips this month, which means he leaves early (5am) on Mondays and gets home late on Thursday (9pm or so). I miss him tonight and doing stuff like this helps! I love and miss you very much babe! Hurry home will ya? :)

Some of you have asked what kind of airplane Bill flies. Well, here it is. It is called the CRJ-200. It is a 50 passenger regional jet. WIth any Luck he will be Capt. Adams by the end of the year. I will keep you all posted! :)

Super Duke is SUPER!

I realized that I posted on here when Duke was so sick by never really update with a post on how he was doing. For those of you that have been asking about him (and thanks so much for doing so) he is doing great. He is back to his normal self raising heck with the best of em! I dont know if it's just me, cause he's my boy,,, but I think he's such a beautiful dog! Looks so proud doesn't he? I love you Duke!!!

So, the latest in the life of Jo and Bill's life is that Jennifer (jo's twin sis) and Brandon are moving to FLORIDA!! Hip hip hooray!! Jen landed a great job out at Marriott's Bay Point Resort and will be starting on Sept 17th! They are getting introduced to all the great bargains of Florida Real Estate (haha! yeah right) Not quite the same as Alabama I hear. We are all glad they are coming and can't wait to have them here!!

As you can see, I didnt.

Bill's dad and Deb ordered BBQ from a local restaraunt in St. Augustine called L&W. The pulled pork was AWESOME. Deb also made this strawberry and Spinach salad that was topped with peanut brittle that eveyone LOVED,,,, ofcourse, I wouldn't know,, but it did look very good! :)

They say it's great to be a Florida Gator,,, yeah, well, today it didnt feel so great. It was hotter than H-E double hockey sticks (that was for you mom) and pretty darned crowded. ICK!

After the game. We all decided to leave after the third quarter to visit and eat and drink some more (since it was so obvious that poor W. Kentucy didnt have a shot to do anything worth staying for). Here is Bob, Mom, Tom, Bill, Dad and Debbie.

Not much going on

Well,, although we haven't had much going on lately, we are still here. Bill and I are headed to the opening game for Florida this weekend ( we will be meeting up with his dad and Debbie and his mom and Bob) and I will definately update the blog with that trip and some pictures.... GO GATORS! :)

Update on Duke

Well, Dr. Evans just called me and YUP! Duke is sick. They are sending off his blood work to see if he ate something toxic, it could be the easter Lilly that we have in the house or the mushrooms that we have in the yard,,, who knows. But the doc said that hes defianately in pain and very uncomfortable. So, hes at the vet for the day so they can watch him and he will be able to come home at five. Bill will go and get him later today. The vet is sending us home with a slew of meds for Duke. Hope he's feeling better soon.

Super Duke is SICK

Our big boy isnt feeling very good. He was up vomiting through out the night. He vomitted three times. Maybe he got into something toxic....poor thing!

Here he is at the vet,,, just laying on the floor. This is odd for him especially with another dog in the waiting room...... I am waiting on hearing from the doctor to see what is wrong. I really hope he feels better soon!

The plane ride down was great. There were only 12 people booked on the whole flight so Bill and I decided to spread out a bit and I actually sat across fromm him.

On the final approach into Marathon I kept noticing these little tiny islands that had these houses on them. I decided to snap a pic. I guess you gotta take a boat from the main Island to get there?

Pelicans were everywhere! So were iguanas, but I never got a picture of those things.

Its times like this when I wonder, how is it humanly possible to not LOVE animals, not just dogs, but ALL animals. Lucy is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever known. She was already asleep when I picked her up to take her outside before we cashed in for the night. She's couldn't quite wake up, she wanted to keep sleeping! :)

Our Trip to Nassau, Bahamas with Jen and Brandon

On the plane headed to Nassau. We got up at 430 this morning, we were sooooo tired, but not anymore! :)

We stayed at the Sheraton Cable Beach Resort. It was very nice and everyone at the hotel was so friendly.

Since we got to Nassau so early, our rooms were not ready when we checked in at 11:30. Normal check in was not until 3:00. Although it was raining out, we decided to grab lunch at the beachside grill on property while they got our rooms ready for us.

Apparently this is a pretty popular chair inside the Atlantis,, the line to get your picture taken in it was pretty long. There was Atlantis Staff there controlling all the comotion. Nuts!

Well, we got lucky tonight. We were able to get last minute resercations at former Iron Chef champion, Bobby Flay's new restaraunt Mesa Gril. It was AMAZING, but bring the checkbook if you know what I mean! Great food, even better atmosphere!
